NORTHERN RIVERS CENTRE
Buddhism Diamond Way Northern Rivers meets weekly for meditation practice and to share practical Buddhist teachings useful in every day life.
Every Monday at 7pm we open our centre in Alstonville.
After everyone arrives and catches up on the latest news or meets the group for the first time, someone from our Sangha usually gives a ten-minute talk or leads a discussion on a topic related to Diamond Way Buddhist view or practice.
These short talks always provide fresh inspiration for the meditation on the 16th Karmapa that follows. This meditation is practiced in all the Diamond Way centres around the world.
Lama Ole Nydahl recommends it as being especially beneficial for Buddhist practitioners with modern western lifestyles. It is an excellent tool for discovering the nature of mind and the development of our innate potential.
The meditation is suitable for beginners, anyone new to Buddhism is welcome to come and try it out for themselves.

We also often get together for Ngondro practice days. Those people interested in making Buddhist meditation a part of their everyday lives can join us for a day of Ngondro and other meditations unique to the Diamond Way.
Ngondro is the set of four foundational practices that establish us on the path of spiritual growth and thoroughly prepare us for the teachings, practices and realisation of the Great Seal (Mahamudra).
Lama Ole has been visiting the Northern Rivers every year since 1996 and has given several courses in the area as well as public talks in both Lismore and Ballina.
The group here first started in Byron Bay in 1999 and now meets weekly in Alstonville where we have a purpose built Mediation space (Gompa). 'Diamond Way House' was officially opened and blessed by Lama Ole during his tour in February 2004.
Alstonville is located 30minutes drive from Byron Bay on the beautiful
plateau midway between Ballina and Lismore.
